Health, Safety and Welfare

The Health, Safety, Welfare and overall wellbeing of our students is very important to us.  Aikido is non competitive and open to all.  Aggressive, discriminatory or abusive behaviour is not tolerated.

Students  should practice in a respectful way, both to the instructor and fellow students.  They should be constantly mindful of their own health and safety and that of others around them.  Watches and jewellery should be removed and stored safely during practice.  Finger and Toe nails should be kept short and clean, training cloths should be regularly washed and attention should be given to general hygiene and cleanliness.  If you wear spectacles and have a sports pair, please use them and if not, ensure that glasses fit securely and will not come lose.  When not needed remove and store safely.

    By attending any training session you agree to recognise  that as a participant in Aikido training you are fully aware and accept the inherent risk involved in undertaking contact activities such as Aikido.  This now includes contact which could pass on Coronavirus/COVID 19 and will comply with safety measures as directed by the class instructor.

    By training you also agree to us collecting track and trace information and undertaking appropriate health checks.  You will abide by social distancing rules and other Government COVID-19 guidance at all times when in the Aikido Ulverston / Church Walk Primary Schools Property and will not seek access to any other facilities on the site.  Hands should be sanitised on arrival and before and after each class.  Weapons should not be shared.

     It is the individuals responsibility to ensure that they are appropriately insured.  Insurance is purchased through the Club for a small annual fee.

      You are not to attend any training event in any way if you:

 1. Have recently tested positive for Covis -19 Virus

      and have the potential to be infectious;

2.  Have symptoms typical of Covid -19;

3.  Have recently been in contact with someone with a confirmed Covid -19 infection; and/or being required to self-isolate to quarantine over Covid -19 concerns.

    Further information is available in our COVID-Safe Arrangement and Risk Assessment check list.
